Wellbeing Programmes

Throughout the year we run a number of wellbeing programmes for women, men, and parents. These groups are designed to empower, upskill, and provide support for mild to moderate mental health. They are also designed to support parents and children, and provide a safe space to connect and learn. Information via the contact or registration page.

youth cooking classes

Cooking Classes

Cooking classes run throughout the year for a range of skill levels, including a ‘Men’s Cooking Group’. These classes are for those who want to connect, build life skills, learn new cooking techniques, learn new styles, and be exposed to flavours from other cultures and dietary requirements.

Community Computers

A computer is located at the righthand side of the main area in the centre and is available for the public to use and to print from (some charges may apply). If you need assistance a staff member or volunteer can support you.

Fitness Classes

An updated schedule of fitness classes will be published in the new year. To register your interest in low cost and free fitness classes and events, register your interest and use the ‘other’ category.

Getting back into fitness or connecting with others in a supportive environment can be hard, we offer free and affordable exercise options including pilates and boxfit. For more information contact us or register here.

If you are a new or existing business in the Welcome Bay Ward, we want to support and connect with you. A business directory is currently being set up, if you’d like to be included please contact us. There will be future business networking events coming, and rooms available to hire for small client meetings or larger meetings in our board room space or main lounge area.

Counselling

Welcome Bay Community Centre offers a comprehensive counselling service staffed by a dedicated team of professionals, including both qualified counselors and supervised students. Each counsellor receives regular supervision and support to ensure the high standards of care. Counselling is available 9am-3pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. Counselling for children 6 years and over is available Monday and Wednesday. To book an appointment, click here.

We also have other community groups running within the centre such as; Health Waka (Wednesday 5.30pm-9pm), Man Up / Legacy, I AM Narrative Therapy, Bay Financial Mentors (Tuesday/Thursday), private yoga classes (Tuesday evening), and space to hire for FGC’s, counselling, board or business meetings.
